Language Proficiency Levels
A1 – Beginner
Can understand basic phrases and vocabulary related to everyday situations (e.g., introductions, greetings). Can introduce themselves and express basic needs using simple sentences, such as ordering food or asking for directions. Understands simple sentences if spoken slowly and clearly.
A2 – Pre-Intermediate
Can communicate in common situations, such as shopping, traveling, or describing their family and work. Understands simple texts, such as emails or information signs. Can write a simple letter or short message.
B1 – Intermediate
Understands the main points of regular conversation on familiar topics (work, family, leisure). Can lead simple meetings or give presentations in a professional context. Can write longer emails or brief reports summarizing events.
B2 – Upper-Intermediate
Capable of communicating effectively in a professional environment, including phone calls, presentations, or negotiations. Understands complex texts and specialized articles. Can write formal letters, reports, and essays on familiar topics.
C1 – Advanced
Understands long and complex texts fluently, including abstract and specialized topics. Can argue persuasively and defend their opinions. Writes complex documents such as analyses, reports, or academic papers.
C2 – Expert/Mastery
Understands almost everything heard or read and can summarize information effectively. Writes persuasively and fluently at a professional level. Can adapt their communication style to any situation, including demanding debates or negotiations.
